Once upon a time, a long time ago, when the world was void of social media, and internet forums were king, I fell in love with the comic convention scene.  Among the vibrant cosplayers, vintage comic books, celebrity appearances, and lost toys of my childhood, I discovered a gateway to a realm of perpetual escapism.

One convention in particular, Wizard World now rebranded as Fan Expo, became my haven. It was the year 1999 when I attended my first show with my dad, a giant-sized event that coincided with my adoption. That first Con really impacted me. It was a tidal wave of something I’d never seen or experienced before. I’ll always be grateful that my old man did that for me, though a tiny suspicion lingers that his own fascination with Angela figurines might have played a part. I’ll never truly know!

Fast forward nearly a quarter of a century later, and my love for Cons has grown and mutated into something powerful. With each visit I felt a huge upward shift in my own personal fandom.

Last year’s Fan Expo provided me with an extraordinary Con experience. It left me hungry to take my Con experience to the next level. And that’s why, in a thrilling turn of events, TGM (that’s me!) is officially covering Fan Expo 2023 as an official member of the Press Corp!

I look forward to sharing this epic adventure with all of you in the upcoming month. My approach will be far from conventional, as I am not a fan of the standard review or breakdown format. Instead, you can expect a cache of niche reviews, focused fan analysis, and perhaps even exclusive interviews. My ultimate aim is to take you, dear reader, along for the ride, as we embark on this marvelous journey together.
