We’re one day away from the big day and we still can’t believe the amazing schedule and guests that has been revealed for Fan expo 2024! As my childhood hero once said, “It’s chock -O -block, mate!”
So, with time rushing towards us like a screaming squadron of tie-fighters we wanted to take a quick snapshot profile on some key guests that we personally are excited to see!
Without further adieu our first guest snapshot is Gina Carano aka Cara Dune! ( *deflated balloon noise* Once again this was obvious due to our headline.)
Gina Carano is a former Women’s MMA fighter who absolutely was one of the faces of the sport in the early days. Like one of her smooth grappling moves ( I have no idea about fighting ) Gina moved to the Hollywood ring with ease. You see, that’s us trying to be hip.
Not only was Carano kick butt in the ring but she did carve her own path in pop culture in a big way. Don’t believe us – check this out!
- She was in the revival of American Gladiators as Crush!
2. She started the renaissance of the IRL female action hero with Haywire. We would like to add that Gina belongs in a James Bond movie. Can we make that happen, please?!
3. If that doesn’t convince you that you that she’s a badass pop culture icon. How about this: She Nut-shotted Colossus in Deadpool.
4. And of course, she put the “badass” in Star Wars with her portrayal as Cara Dune.

Seriously, Gina Carano is one of those rare sparks in the industry that is a total genuine person. Her story is a Hollywood movie. From the ring to the screen she’s proven herself worthy of more and I can assume she will get more because of who she is. So, it’s simply a damn treat to have her in the lineup at Fan Expo Chicago 2024.
